Why I recommend Natural Tone Organic Skincare Sunscreen
When I experienced a heat rash for the first time, I was 46 years old and on vacation in Mexico. Before I knew what it was, I thought it was a hormonal reaction. You know,… an “age thing”. Why not. We blame everything else on age. Then I thought perhaps I had suddenly developed allergies. I also thought the sun was the culprit.
Since I was in Mexico, I have spent time in the sun, so I applied sunscreen. I couldn’t tell you the brand or SPF; I just don’t remember. I was the type that went to Walmart and grabbed whatever looked like it would work. It worked all right. But before it protected me from the sun’s harmful rays, it went right into my pores and clogged them up. I didn’t know that at the time, but now I do.
I just knew I was miserable. I wasn’t aware of effective ways to treat prickly heat rash and alleviate the itching and heat sensations, so I just suffered. Well, that’s not true, first I took some anti-histamine medication, but it didn’t work. Then I just suffered. I remember the plane ride back being a complete itch-fest. Ugh. It was miserable.
For two years after that, I made a decision to stay out of the sun, blaming it entirely for the heat rash. So, I’d apply super high SPF sunscreen, hide under the umbrella, and enjoy my vacation in the shade.
It wouldn’t have been so bad, except I still got a prickly heat rash! I’m like, “What the hell?”
Fast forward to a family vacation in Cancun a year later. It was 2006. I was staying out of the sun as much as possible when I came across a vendor that was selling some magic sunscreen. Or so they said.
They said the sunscreen was particular because it was a broad sunscreen, protecting from UVA and UVB rays. I figured all sunscreens did, so I wasn’t impressed.
Then they said it’s all-natural and friendly to the environment, in particular, the coral reefs that are so important to the ecology. Well, I like coral reefs, but it wasn’t enough for me to buy this fancy sunscreen.
Then they said this sunscreen will not clog your pores or sweat glands, so you don’t have to worry about getting prickly heat rash ever again. << Now THAT had my attention!
I bought the sunscreen, used it, and never got a prickly heat rash again. It was a big deal!
I literally do not buy any other sunscreen product for me or my family. It costs more than the stuff at Walmart, but it works to avoid prickly heat rash, and to me, that’s priceless. It also helps you get one hell of a tan!
I know this sounds like a sales pitch, and it might be if I wasn’t so dedicated to this product. I don’t want anyone to have to experience prickly heat rash ever again.
The product is called Natural Tone Organic Skincare, and you can get it at Natural Tone Suncare. They also offer an amazing after-sun care lotion called Rose Hip Aloe Lotion.
Every year, I order sunscreen immediately after my annual trip to the Caribbean so it’s fresh and will carry me through at least that year. You can purchase the sunscreen and lotions individually or as part of a pack. I usually buy the Necessity Tanning pack + an SPF8 sunscreen so I can start with a very high SPF and adjust to a lower SPF as the vacation goes on.
