Grenada’s All-Inclusive Hotels (+the Hidden Ones)

A key step to planning my trip to Grenada is to find a place to stay – an all-inclusive is my preference. But are there any all-inclusive hotels on this unspoiled island of pure paradise? When I started out searching for all-inclusive resorts in Grenada I thought it would be an easy task – just get a list of move on. What I discovered is that some resorts that offer all-inclusive options, but are not strictly all-inclusive, were hidden. What I mean by hidden is that the booking websites didn’t include them in the list of all-inclusive hotels because it was an option vs. you had no choice but to have all-inclusive with your room booking.  Hence the reason I chose to write this article – for an accurate, all-inclusive (pun intended!) listing of all-inclusive hotels in Grenada. You’re welcome 🙂

There are 10 all-inclusive hotels on Grenada and each one is located on the main island of Grenada. Some of the hotels are strictly all-inclusive and some offer all-inclusive options.

I love all-inclusive resorts. Call me spoiled, I probably deserve it. Truth is, I’ve been traveling the Caribbean for over 20 years and have always stayed at all-inclusive resorts. The primary reason is I like no-fuss, easy-breezy getaways where I pay once and don’t have to worry about budgeting for every drink or morsel I pop in my mouth.

But what about Grenada? The all-inclusive vacation package companies like Apple Vacations and Funjet don’t offer all-inclusive vacation packages to Grenada (at least not yet!). It made me wonder if there are even all-inclusive resorts on the islands at all. And if so, where are they? How much do they cost? I have so many questions!

Lucky for you — I did the research, found the answers, and am happy to share them with you.  Don’t worry, I’m not selling hotel bookings, I just documented my research and am sharing it with you in this article.

Before we get into the nitty-gritty about the all-inclusive properties in Grenada, let’s talk about what an all-inclusive resort/hotel is.

What is an all-inclusive hotel?

An all-inclusive hotel includes food and drinks with the room rate. They charge a single fee – based on how many people and how many nights you are staying – and its all included.

Typically, “drinks” include juice, soda, beer, alcohol, and sometimes wine.

Some all-inclusive properties will also arrange airport transportation, but this is more common with all-inclusive vacation packages (i.e. Apple & Funjet) and less common with all-inclusive hotels.

Depending on the property, other items may be included such as non-motorized sports (i.e. paddle boards, Hobie Cat Sailing, kayaks, snorkel equipment), spa treatments, a fitness facility, tennis, golf, and other amenities.

I talk about the differences between all-inclusive hotels and all-inclusive vacation packages in great detail in my article Why All-Inclusive Resorts are Awesome. Check it out if you’re interested.

Grenada’s All Inclusive Hotels

All of the all-inclusive hotels are located on the main island of Grenada. Most are concentrated in the southwestern portion of the island. The map below depicts the location of each property.

  1. Calabash Luxury Boutique Hotel
  2. Coyaba Beach Resort
  3. Kalinaga Beach Resort
  4. Laluna Resort
  5. Mount Cinnamon Resort & Beach Club
  6. Petite Anse Beachfront Cottages and Restaurant
  7. Radisson Grenada Beach Resort
  8. Royalton Suites – Opening in 2020
  9. Sandals Grenada Resort & Spa
  10. Spice Island Beach Resort

Note: Some of the hotels on our list are strictly all-inclusive while other hotels offer an all-inclusive package as an option. I’m not aware of a difference other than the hotels that are not strictly all-inclusive will have guests on varying meal plans.

The section that follows details the all-inclusive properties on Grenada. Along with the name, location, beach, and inclusions. A variety of ratings were included as well as a price range.

Hotel Ratings

In order to provide a fair reflection of the hotel’s rating, I included the rating score from three separate companies including Google, TripAdvisor, and Booking.com. That way, you can choose to consider who’s rating you trust.

Below is a synopsis of the companies that provided ratings, their rating scale and how/if they vet the reviews.

CompanyRating ScaleHow Reviews are Vetted
Google5-Star Anyone with a Google account can leave a review. There is no way to prove if they actually stayed at the hotel.
TripAdvisor5-Star Anyone with a TripAdvisor account can leave a review. There is no way to prove if they actually stayed at the hotel.
Booking.com10-StarOnly users who actually booked a room with the hotel (through booking.com) are permitted to leave a review on that property.

Price Range

Hotel rates fluctuate throughout the year based on demand. Also, some booking websites buy blocks of rooms and are able to offer a discounted rate. For that reason, instead of listing the actual nightly room rate I opted for a price range. This way the hotel’s price range can be reflected without listing a specific price which may vary based on when and where you book the room.

For a fair comparison, the price ranges are based on the rate of the room with the full all-inclusive option, if in fact the hotel offers options vs. is strictly an all-inclusive hotel.

Here are the ranges:

Nightly Room Rate Range
<$100
$100 – 250
$250 – 500
$500 – $750
$750 – $1000
$1000 +

Advantages of All-Inclusive Resorts & Hotels

Convenience: All-inclusive resorts and hotels are a convenient way to take a trip. Instead of toting your wallet or purse with you, you just show a wristband (provided at the time of registration) proving you’re a paying guest, and simply go get your food or drink.

Cost-Effective (sometimes): Depending on the property, an all-inclusive can save you money. If you were to pay for all the food, drinks, watersports, spa treatments (or anything else that is included and that you actually use) individually, you are likely to save by paying a single all-inclusive fee.

It really all depends on the property itself (i.e. how pricey they are) and the amenities you choose to take advantage of. For example, if the property includes golf but you don’t golf, you don’t get to include the cost of golf in your total cost savings.

Disadvantages of All-inclusive Resorts & Hotels

One Place: You eat and drink at the same place. If you’re a sight-seer, adventure-seeker or just plain someone who can’t sit still (even on vacation) an all-inclusive may not be for you. In fact, you may even choose to stay at several properties on Grenada and even perhaps Carriacou and/or Petit Martinique.

Of course, if your intention is to park yourself on the beach or at the pool and not venture out, staying at one place could be an advantage!

More Expensive: The price to stay at an all-inclusive can be cost-effective but it can also be more expensive. As mentioned earlier, it depends on the amenities you choose to use. In general, the trade-off for the convenience offered by an all-inclusive is higher cost.

It can be tricky researching and finding the perfect accommodations for your stay on Grenada. I found it time-consuming going through the listings on various booking sights, comparing ratings and digging even deeper to see if all-inclusive options were available. That’s why I wrote this article – so you can easily find the all-inclusive on the island, compare them equally and make a decision. Happy planning!
